Regina M. Banis, Attorney at Law

Regina M. Banis (formerly Regina M. Strickroth) is an attorney admitted to practice in the State of South Carolina.  She has practiced law in Bluffton and Hilton Head Island since 1994.  Regina earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1988, and her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of San Diego in 1992.

For the first 17 years of her career, Regina focused on commercial and residential real estate transactions, including §1031 tax deferred exchanges; business closings, and corporate work.

After starting her practice, Regina had the ability to pursue all areas of law that interest her and benefit her clients.

Regina’s practice includes family law litigation, including contested divorce and child custody actions, acting as the Guardian ad Litem in custody and visitation disputes, and family court mediation.

Regina handles adoptions, including adult adoption, step-parent adoption, and LGBTQIA+ adoptions.

Regina enjoys helping clients with their estate planning and probate matters.

Regina is an ally who focuses on family law and estate planning issues that are specific to the LGBTQIA+ community.

Regina is the sole member of Regina M. Banis, LLC, which was formerly known as the Law Office of Regina M. Strickroth, LLC.  Regina organized the firm in 2007 and renamed it in 2015 after she resumed using her maiden name.

Regina was the managing member of the residential real estate division of Novit & Scarminach, P.A. from 2001 until 2006, and still values the relationships she made at that firm.

Regina previously served on the Town of Bluffton Beautification Committee, and is the Past President of the Zonta International Club of Bluffton.

Regina is the barefoot, ukulele-playing attorney who makes her clients feel like family.
