Regina earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1988, and her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of San Diego in 1992.

Regina is a proponent of Alternative Dispute Resolution as a means of assisting clients in reaching resolutions to their family court disputes. She has been a Certified Family Court Mediator since 2009. Regina began her career focusing on commercial and residential real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, equity lines of credit and refinances, contract preparation, §1031 tax deferred exchanges; business closings and corporate work. Regina has expanded her practice to include family law litigation, including acting as the Guardian ad Litem in custody and visitation disputes, family court mediation, collaborative divorce, contested divorce and child custody, same-sex legal issues and simple estate planning and probate matters.

Regina is the sole member of Regina M. Banis, LLC, which was formerly known as the Law Office of Regina M. Strickroth, LLC. Regina organized the firm in 2007 and renamed it in 2015 after she resumed using her maiden name.

Regina was the managing member of the residential real estate division of Novit & Scarminach, P.A. from 2001 until 2006, and still values the relationships she made at that firm.
Regina previously served on the Town of Bluffton Beautification Committee, and is the Past President of the Zonta International Club of Bluffton.
